Indicted Attorney General Kathleen Kane Tuesday appointed former Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler special prosecutor to investigate porn emails sent between the Office of Attorney General and various judicial officials.
Gansler is now a partner in the law firm of Buckley Sandler based in Washington, D. C.Kane did not take any questions during the announcement, but Gansler said he would be hiring at least four other individuals from his law firm to help with the investigation.
Gansler said he would be paid at the same rate as the Attorney General-- $158,000 per year, but he did not expect the investigation and prosecutions to cost more than $2 million.
