The Gaming Control Board Tuesday reported May slot machine revenue was down .20 percent compared to last year. Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos generated slot machine revenue of $210,830,677 compared to $211,245,136 in 2013.
Revenue generation resulted in a return of $112,795,975 in taxes to Pennsylvania citizens during May, an average of $3.6 million of taxes generated per day.
The average number of slot machines in operation on a daily basis at the 12 casinos was also slightly higher during May 2014 with 26,417 compared to 25,973 during May 2013. The primary difference in the number of slot machines was the operation of Lady Luck Casino in May of this year, a facility that was not yet opened in May of last year.
