Treasurer-Elect Joe Torsella Tuesday announced Gwen Camp will join the Pennsylvania Treasury as his Chief of Staff on January 17.
“Gwen has spent her career serving the people of Pennsylvania and the United States,” said Torsella. “She stands ready to work with me to bring the highest standards of ethics, accountability and transparency to the Treasury and is committed to finding ways that the Treasury can make a real difference in the lives of Pennsylvanians.”
Currently, Camp serves as the State Director for U.S. Senator Bob Casey, leading the Senator’s outreach efforts to constituents and stakeholder groups across the Commonwealth.
Prior to serving with Senator Casey, Camp was appointed by President Obama to the Senior Executive Service as the Director of Individual and Community Preparedness at the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the US Department of Homeland Security.
Her first Presidential Appointment was as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, responsible for FEMA’s state, local, tribal and territorial interactions on disasters including in Joplin, MO; Tuscaloosa, AL and New York, NY.
Camp has held positions in the Pennsylvania House and the U.S. House of Representatives, in addition to previous Senate work.
She has run political and advocacy campaigns on the federal, state and local levels in Pennsylvania and workshops in the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America.
