Senate Committee Holds Hearing On Prohibiting Gender, Gay Discrimination By Employers

The Senate Labor and Industry Committee held a hearing Tuesday on Senate Bill 1306 (Browne-R-Lehigh) banning employers from discriminating on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
The Committee heard from 19 witnesses on six panels representing national and state gender and sexual identity equality groups, the PA Chamber of Business and Industry, the PA Catholic Conference, the PA Human Rights Relations Commission, the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and others.
