Democratic Montgomery County commissioner Josh Shapiro beat Allegheny County DA Stephen Zappala and Northampton DA John Morganelli in the Democratic Primary for Attorney General.
Shapiro won with 47.1 percent of the vote, followed by Zappala with 36.7 percent and Morganelli at just over 16 percent.
A Harper Poll released Monday had Shapiro leading Zappala 41 to 23 percent in campaign for Attorney General with undecided is third at 21 percent.
On the Republican side, there wasn’t much of a contest. State Senator John Rafferty (R) easily beat Joseph Peters.
