Indicted Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced Tuesday she will not run for a second term citing concerns about her family.
Saying “Pennsylvanians are getting what they deserve... a full-time Attorney General every single day," Kane said she is proud of what she has accomplished.
Tuesday was the deadline for filing nominating petitions to secure a spot on the April Primary Election ballot.
A spokesperson for House Republicans said the efforts to impeach Kane will continue.
By a bipartisan vote of 170 to 12, the House February 10 approved House Resolution 659 (Everett-R-Lycoming) authorizing the House Judiciary Committee to begin an impeachment investigation of Kane to determine her fitness for office after just a few minutes of discussion.
