With more than 89 percent of the precincts counted, President Obama won over 52 percent of the vote and Bob Casey received over 54 percent of the votes cast.
The Democrats continued to sweep in the statewide office races by leading in the contests for Attorney General, Auditor General and State Treasurer. In fact, Pennsylvania will elect its first Democratic and first female Attorney General in history.
With over 89 percent of precincts counted--
-- Attorney General: Kane (D) leads Freed (R) with over 57 percent of the vote;-- Auditor General: DePasquale (D) leads Maher (R) with over 50 percent of the vote; and
-- State Treasurer: McCord (D) leads Vaughan (R) with over 53 percent of the vote.
In the state Senate, Republicans lost three seats previously held by Sen. John Pippy (R-Allegheny), Sen. Jane Orie (R-Allegheny) and Sen. Jeff Picccola (R-Dauphin) to Democrats reducing their majority to 27.
While results are still coming in, Republicans will retain control of the House with 111 members, rather than 112 so far.
