Oil Franchise Tax On Gasoline, Diesel Fuel Going Down Slightly In 2018, Airplane Fuels Up

The Department of Revenue published notice in the December 9 PA Bulletin announcing the 2018 Oil Company Franchise Tax Rates on gasoline, diesel, aviation and jet fuel.
For gasoline, the tax will be 57.6 cents per gallon, down from 58.2 cents in 2017.  For diesel fuel it will be 74.1 cents per gallon, down from 74.7 cents in 2017.  
The tax on fuel for airplanes is going up.  For aviation gasoline - 5.7 cents per gallon, up from 5.5 cents in 2017.  For jet fuel - 1.8 cents per gallon, up from 1.6 cents in 2017.
The Oil Company Franchise Tax is imposed at the wholesale, not retail level of fuel sales.
