New Poll Results: A new Quinnipiac University Poll today shows a slight increase in Gov. Corbett's job approval rating to 47 to 34 percent, from 46 to 31 percent in November. This is the first real increase in his approval rating since his high of 50 to 32 percent in September.
In contrast, the poll found a split decision in his handling of Penn State's sex abuse case, only 38 percent approved of his position, 36 percent opposed.
The public support the firing of Penn State's Joe Paterno by 52 to 43 percent and Graham Spanier, the former president, 74 to 13 percent. 65 percent of voters think football has too much influence at Penn State.
Tax Pledge Violated: No-Tax Guru Grover Norquist said the Corbett Administration's initiative to get companies to pay the Sales Tax they owe represents a violation of the Governor's no tax increase pledge.
