According to the monthly revenue figures released today by the House Appropriations Committee Chair Bill Adolph (R-Delaware), the state has collected more than $1.1 billion in personal income taxes in January, which is nearly $73 million more than anticipated. Sales tax collections came in at more than $813 million, or more than $4.8 million than expected. The corporate taxes generated almost $90 million last month, or $917,000 more than budgeted.
To date this fiscal year which started July 1 the state has collected nearly $13.7 billion, or nearly $264 million more than was anticipated, from revenue sources to fund its $28 billion general fund budget, according to information shared by House sources.
