Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-Jefferson) Tuesday appointed Merritt C. Reitzel to the 7-member PA Gaming Control Board, according to Capitolwire.com.
Merritt is a public member of the Legislative Audit Advisory Commission. She replaces Anthony Moscato confirmed this week by the Senate for the Board of Probation and Parole.
In a formal announcement of the appointment Saturday, Sen. Scarnati said, “In an effort to maintain full transparency, Merritt Reitzel’s sister, Megan Crompton, is currently registered with the Department of state as representing gaming clients. Ms Crompton will formally withdraw from representation of those clients prior to Ms. Reitzel being sworn-in as Commissioner, to ensure no appearance of conflict.”
