Senate Committee Holds Hearing On State Store Privatization Feb. 14

The Senate Law and Justice Committee will hold the first in a planned series of hearings on privatizing Pennsylvania liquor stores on February 14 from 3-5 p.m., said Majority Committee Chair John Pippy (R-Allegheny).
The Committee will not be discussing a specific bill. The purpose of the hearing is to explore the general topic of privatizing liquor sales, reviewing the practice of others states, and other facets of the issue.
Expected to testify are representatives of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, Reason Foundation, the Commonwealth Foundation, and Pacific AInstitute for Research and Evaluation.
